Karen Brings Home a Baby Girl

Baby Harlon KaleKaren Clubine  and  husband, Jason, spent many hours studying the origins of names in preparation of making the absolute perfect selection for their future arrival. On May 14th, the many days of studying and searching paid-off, when they welcomed baby Harlon Kale to their family. Karen, Jason and daughter Taidyn (now five) are ecstatic!  Both Taidyn's and Harlon's names were highly guarded secrets and chosen before their respective arrivals, regardless of the gender of the child.  Personally, I think that is an excellent strategy.

All reports are good from the the Clubine household. "I am living the gravy life with 2 fine daughters" says Jason. Karen, on the other hand, has not slept in weeks.

Meet the Chukar

ChukarDespite our name, pheasants have never been a part of the wildlife seen at Pheasant Run. It seems their habitat requirements don't match with what we have to offer.

You can imagine our surprise, then, to be enjoying an extended visit with a near cousin of the pheasant family, a Eurasian upland game bird known as the ‘Chukar'.  Of Asian origin, the Chukar is the National Bird of Pakistan and according to Indian lore, ‘is in love with the moon, looking at it constantly'.  This friendly and gentle bird has become quite at home around the clubhouse and can be seen most days competing with the chipmunks for crumbs around the patio.

‘Penelope', as she is known to staff, is very comfortable around people and is enjoying near-celebrity status with everyone she encounters.

New Chef Meets Rising Expectations

Chef RudiThe recent appointment of Chef Rudi Kargl as Executive Chef at Pheasant Run has created new excitement for Ladies' League Players. Always looking for fresh ideas in ‘League Night Specials', participants have seen a stream of dazzling entrees' coming through the kitchen doors in recent weeks.  And that is just the start of what is to come.  With the tournament and wedding season just starting, there is much to look forward to.  Rudi comes to Pheasant Run with significant skills in event food preparation, special interest in food display and art, and the drive to make the dining experience the cornerstone of the Pheasant Run experience.  His extensive background in the kitchens of large resort hotels, luxury cruise ships and yachts make him ideally suited to elevate event meals to the level of high art.

Next time you're in the Café, please, take the time to introduce yourself to Rudi Kargl- then, take a seat and enjoy something from one of the best run kitchens in golf!
